Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 2862
Provide Mechanism to distribute data from master download server to mirrors
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:32 UTC
To support the establishment of Sun/CollabNet external mirrors we need the appropriate mechanism. AFAIK usage of rsync over ssh2 from master to mirror is in discussion (push). I can think of rsync over ssh2 from mirror also (pull), which is preferred by some mirrors.
I already filed issue # 1 on the extranet, but will continue with this one. We would like: 1. pull rsync from a central location (sf1.mirror, say) 2. no ssh2 required; md5sums should be adequate. best, Louis

I've submitted an internal issue (PCN7649) for our operations team. I'm still working on what we have to do internally and what the timeframe might be.
Changing this to a TASK.
Louis and I met with the instantiation engineer and the operations engineer this afternoon, and we've come up with a plan for implementing this. Louis needs to get some info from each of the volunteer mirrors (incl. IP address of the mirror), and then we'll turn this over to operations for implementation.
We've sent the list to the operations group.
I've heard from louis and the operations folks that the new mirror system is now functioning.
Indeed, it is. Thanks
