Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3015
PDF converter does not use document name as advertised but document title
Last modified: 2003-03-11 18:17:19 UTC
The help for setting up printers says: [...] and "(OUTFILE)" by the target file, the name of which is created from the document name.[...] Document name I would interpret as file name. What is being used is the document title as specified in the properties. In case 'document name' is meant to be the same as 'document title' I still consider this a bug. Reasoning: If I have a document called HalfABee.sxw and the title is 'The Life And Death of Frederic Halfabee', then I sure want the PDF file to be called HalfABee.pdf. If you think that's only me then at least having an option to influence this behaviour would be really nice. Thanks & best regards Andree

CP->PL: please have a look at it.
pl->cj: Works as designed. If the filename is required instead applications have to feed this to vcl instead of the title. Please evaluate what is preferable.
I agree to Andree we should not use the title use in the properties. If the doc is called a.sxw, the pdf should be called a.pdf.
I will change Printer::StartJob accordingly, sfx will have to provide the filename. This change is incompatible, i doubt that we can get that into 641 (aka Ooo1.0)

This feature is still missing, but since the next version will have a real PDF export instead of the printer workaround i think it is no longer necessary to fix this.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
