This problem has occurred with me with all versions of OpenOffice since 1.1
That is 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2
This problem did not occur with OpenOffice 1.0 - that runs just fine.

The install runs normally, then the applications will not run - a soffice
process is created, the windows task manager tells me it is not responding.

The platform is an AMD K6-500, running Windows ME, DirectX 9.1, and Norton
SystemWorks, with no internet connection. Disabling the Norton software has no
effect.

Starting soffice from the command line give no extra information.

@ tonybutt: I can't reproduce on my WinME box. I've installed DirectX 9.0b and
checked with Ooo 1.1.2 final. Please give a detailed description of your system:
- hardware configuration
- disk space, partitions, file system
Please provide a link where I can get DirectX 9.1. I've found downloads for 9.0b
only.
