Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 30590
Please implement CTRL-+ for INSERT
Last modified: 2008-11-05 20:29:12 UTC
Wanting desperately to shift from MS Office to OpenOffice.org but there is one thing stopping me. May sound silly, but I've sort of mastered the art of using Excel without touching the mouse. One of THE most useful Excel shortcuts is perhaps not documented too well; or maybe it is, I don't know. Anyway, it is the magic CTRL-+ . If I select a row (column) and hit CTRL-+ it inserts an empty row (column). If I on the other hand first copy (CTRL-C) a row (column) and then CTRL-+, it will insert this row (column) at the current position. I can select and copy other-shaped regions and if I then CTRL-+ it, Excel will ask if and how I want to shift the surrounding cells. It is an extremely useful shortcut and quite versatile. Makes it very powerful. Please implement this as soon as possible. Many of my mouse-shunning friends feel the same way. If somebody uses Excel a lot then this becomes a big issue. Thanks for an otherwise fantastic piece of software.
Hi Bettina, one for you. Frank
