Description windeleimer 2004-06-26 21:53:19 UTC
I want to show the full-screen-presentation on Display 2 in a dual-head-
system.
I'm using Impress (OpenOffice 1.1) with a dualhead-videocard (Club 3D, Radeon
9200SE, ATI-Hydravision-Dual-Head-Driver, Windows XP, AMD2400+). I expanded
the desktop to the second display.
The videocard-driver (ATI-Hydravision) provides the function to move a window
to 1st oder 2nd display via keyboard-shortcut. This works fine with many
programs, but not with a Impress-presentation. It only blinks, but stays fixed
on Display 1.
A (maybe better) alternative fixing the problem could be to add the powerpoint-
feature: Show presentation on Display x.

I have seen that the last entry was in June and OOo-1.1 related ... Have you tried this with a newer version of OOo or a
new driver for your videocard?

I have a Mobility Radeon 9700 with the newest driver from ATI (WinXP SP2). I use
OO1.1.3 Hungarian version.
Presentations only can shown on the "1" display on fullscreen (I use 1400x1050)
and a projector (1024x768). I had to export the presentation to pdf, and it can
play it correctly on the "2" display!!! I only miss the hyperlinks from the pdf
export :-( and the cool drawing tool...
This feature is essential in a presentation software!!!

IIRC there is a problem to show an OOo-1.1.x window on the second display, but
should be solved in 1.9.xx or so. And IIRC it was not that easy to program it
into OOo-1.1.x without to rewrite the complete code. But I could be wrong here
(have a look in the users@openoffice.org or the dev@openoffice.org mail archive.
Here you should find some more infos about that ... ;) ) ...

issue 12719 discusses this issue. Point blank, this is an enhancement request.
OOo does not support dual monitors at this time.
