Description aelfgifu 2002-02-14 11:57:34 UTC
I tried using both Staroffice 6.0 Beta and OOo on same machine (but not
launched at same time); they appeared to be conflicting with each other. I
uninstalled SO successfully. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling OOo &
rebooting many times. Now when I try to launch OOo, I get this message:

   OLEMainThreadWndName: soffice.exe
The exception unknown software exception (0xe0bd7363) occurred in the
application at location 0x77fd479

And the launch fails. No application. I can't uninstall it via Control Panel.
On attempting reinstall, it offers to repair. It says the repair completed
successfully, but it sure don't run no more.

I really don't know what to do... Download again? Delete all files
manually? Hack the registry? :-(

Please help. It's hard to recommend OOo to my colleagues at work if I can't use
it!

I've had no problem running StarOffice 6.0 and OOo641c on my NT 4 box.
I can start both programms at the same time.
So I can't see a problem in our application: we won't drop a build
that can't be installed or used in any way.
Delete all StarOffice and OOo files, have a look in your profiles
folder: open the sversion.ini with the editor and remove all
StarOffice and OpenOffice entries.
Run a registry cleaner. Look in you startup flder and remove the
quichstart entries. Start the taskmanage and look for soffice task and
stop them.
Try again.

Not a OOo or StarOffice issue.

Fortunatly I've found a message that my workaround is o.k.
