I've tried to grand the role developer to "mhayes" for the xml project. Although
I've selected the role "developer",  the role "content viewer" was granted.

Michael, please make sure that "Developer" is really selected (in blue).
If it really doesn't work, ask me for help.

You're right. I didn't select the role, I've only made it visible.

However, I think this wouldn't have happend if the list box 
shows two lines instead of one.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved
<wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details.
