Description leilich 2004-07-14 09:44:13 UTC
I use the German language Version and hope "Bearbeiten/Datenbak austauschen..."
was translated from "Edit/Exchange Data Source...".
Edit/Exchange Data Source is NOT case sensitive for the Data Source name,
instead MailMerge IS.
1. Create a new data source from a spreadsheet, e.g. name it foo.
2. Insert some fields from this database into a writer doc.
3. Rename the data source from foo to FOO.
4. Now try (from the database view) to insert the field values from a dataset
into the fields of the doc. It won't work.
5. Now try to exchange the database for the doc from foo to FOO. It wont't work.
Of course renaming the data source from FOO to foo solves the problem, but this
behaviour is not understood by simple minds.
If data source names shall be case sensitive, the issue Summary is correct.
Else the summary should be "data source names are case sensitive"
I think data source names should not be case sensitive, as it is in SQL.

a not really important bug, but a bug

clu->fs: maybe you want to fix that
Comment 7 Frank Schönheit 2004-09-14 11:01:00 UTC
fs->os: I suggest the data source handling in Writer should be case sensitive.
The underlying database API definately *is*, and nobody prevents the user from
creating two data sources which only differ in case.
