Description mandreiana 2004-07-14 14:55:29 UTC
Attached spreadsheet has 2 colums: Street and Number.
If used as datasource, the street numbers with letters in them aren't displayed.
I've formatted all cells as Text, and then the Column Format was set to Text too
in data view. (F4 key in word processor)

1. Don't know if it affects all databases or just Calc spreadsheets source
2. Might be related to

clu->mandreiana: the behavior is completely right - not a bug - spreadsheet is a
really primitive format defined:

1. the first row is the title
2. the second define the format
(the format you put in calc document has nothing to do with that - it is only
valid in calc, spreadsheet databases do not follow that)

-> so if you want to have text as format, the second row has to contain a text

p.s. to otransfer the format from calc document would be a feature enhancement
(you can write an enhancement - i would vote for this)

mandreiana->clu: I see now. I'll reopen this and change Issue Type and summary,
rather than filling another.

Note: Although I'm the reporter, I can't change Issue Type and summary. Would
you please do it?

Thank you

... I'm sorry. Those attachments were for another bug report, and I can't see an
obvious way for me to remove them from this one. Please disregard them (or
delete them if you can) as they are completely irrelevant to this issue.

I will check this, soon!

Comment 11 christoph.lukasiak 2004-12-08 12:46:34 UTC
clu->mandreiana: this here get really confusing - please do not reopen bugs
instead of writing new ones (one bug one issue) - please write a new issue, if
you have a 'new' bug/enhancement etc. - please read:
