role "developer" cannot edit files in Document-&Files-Section (project de)

User cloph (UID=790) has Role "developer" in de-project but is not able to edit Files uploaded to the Document & Files Section (even cannot change files uploaded by cloph). Since I cannot request another role (Only "observer" can be chosen, but this would be a "downgrade") I think that this is a misconfiguration of the developer-role in the de-project (not sure whether it is only my account, therefore initial status unconfirmed) Not being able to update own files rendes the whole area useless (one cannot even suggest an update, one has to suggest a new file) I cc'd our project leads

Hi Christian, it seems nobody is willing to confirm your issue :-) Anyways, the default configuration of the documents&files section is intended as you experienced it. Someone can suggest a document, the document is published after approval by the project owner. For changed versions one has to go through project owner approval again - either by submitting a new entry or asking the lead to exchange the document. I hesitate to change this for all OOo projects. You may want to coordinate with DE project leads, whether a change of the workflow is preferred for the DE project. Project Leads could start playing with project specific roles. Rolf and I played with roles... The role "content developer" has all the necessary rights. (Even has the right to edit files with strict lock!) I don't really see the point in being able to reserve a file but not being able to edit it...
