Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 32859
Roundtrip Export / Import OO <-> Word97 produces table formatting misalignments
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:27:37 UTC
Test scenario: 1. Open attached Word97 document in OO 1.1.2 2. Save it under another name as a .doc file. 3. Open it in *either* OO 1.1.2 or Word97 Defect: Table formatting causes the text to be misaligned compared to the original. Discussion: While the formatting in the original document is perhaps a bit odd (the table borders and padding are not regular), it illustrates a problem with interoperability between OO and Office.
Created attachment 17080 [details] This file contains table formatting that does not survive a trip from Word97 to OO then back to Word97
I cannot rproduce the problem by using the attachment as "original". Could you please attach a screenshot which illustrates what's happening on your machine? Thanks for supporting us!
Created attachment 17112 [details] Four screenshots of test scenario with descriptive filenames
Correction to my original third step in the test scenario: The copy saved in step 2 opens fine in OO, but in Word97 it produces misalignments as shown in attached screenshot.
MRU->MM: This only happens when the exported ersion of the attached sample is opened in Word97. With Word2000/XP/2003 this looks good. Word97 does not have an UI for inner cell spacing in tables. Can you see a kind of special tag in the file format, that WW97 can understand this correctly?
forgot to reassign... :-(
If you need any help with testing any fixes, just let me know!
