Description joey 2004-10-08 02:46:27 UTC
Pavel,

I'd have to think this exists elsewhere in the OOo code as well since we do a
lot of web work.

It appears that toos/source/inet/inetmime.cxx hasn't been updated with the
latest editions found here:  http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets

-> utils.

hro@sb: Please review sal/rtl too.
Comment 3 Stephan Bergmann 2004-12-07 08:43:39 UTC
sb->k0fcc: I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want to achieve with this
issue. Do you mean that there are new aliases at
http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets for character sets supported by
sal/inc/rtl/textenc.h (those RTL_TEXTENCODING_xxx values) that are not reflected
in the respective lists in tools/source/inet/inetmime.cxx (aEncodingMap) and/or
sal/textenc/tencinfo.c (rtl_getTextEncodingFromMimeCharset)? If so, do you have
any examples (or even an exhaustive list)? Also, note that
tools/source/inet/inetmime.cxx is probably mostly dead (I have a
Hamburg-internal issue to investigate what exactly is still used of it, and
throw away the rest, albeit with low priority).
Comment 4 joey 2004-12-07 17:27:22 UTC
@sb,

Yes, it appears that the inetmime.cxx is not current with the latest iana character-set map (in fact it's
several revisions out of date). However, if inetmime.cxx is being sunset then, unless you can trace an
end-user issue to this file, I recommend that we do not expend any time on this. If, however,
inetmime.cxx will continue to be used, we should keep this open as a low priority and have someone
update it when they have some free time.

Ah, I see, you allude to the comment in tools/source/inet/inetmime.cxx that
mentions the date of the underlying character-sets file. Again, if there have
not been any additions (i.e., new alias names) to the relevant entries within
the character-sets file (i.e., those entries for which OOo has corresponding
RTL_TEXTENCODING_xxx values), the date would be irrelevant. I'll keep this
issue open and fix it together with that other, unfortunately
Hamburg-bugtracking-system-only one.
