Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 36440
crash on Undo in Impress
Last modified: 2004-11-05 07:34:38 UTC
I knew there were issues with Undo text in presentations in m56, so I tested in m58: Start a new presentation Insert slide -> choose 3rd type (header and bulleted text entries) Insert text in a bulleted entry, press Enter Press Ctrl+Z to Undo -> crash. Attaching generated crash dump.
Created attachment 18800 [details] crash report
Crash when undoing text insertion is reproducible. Reassigned to Christian.
The problem is that during text edit the undo manager for text is not active. So while doing text edit and executing undo, the last undo action from the drawing layer undo manager is executed. In this case its the new page layout that deletes the text object that is currently in edit mode causing a crash later

Issue 36630 describes the same symptoms, but in Draw. Is that related?
Duplicate, see below.
This bug is fixed as a side effect of issue 32921. Therefore, I set it to duplicate. One of the things issue 32921 fixes is the wrong order in which shells are pushed on the shell stack by the ViewShellManager. As a result the undo manager of the edit engine is registered at the wrong shell. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 32921 ***
As suggested above issue 36630 is another duplicate (to issue 32921).
Closed.
