Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3767
epson network printer problem
Last modified: 2003-03-11 18:15:17 UTC
I'm printing over a windows network and the printer is an epson EPL-7500 advanced. This printer only works with a driver that uses a special observation tool. when i want to start openoffice i need to have the network-pc and the printer both runnig before i can start it. if i don't di this it take OO about 10 min to start and when i've finished typing and want to print, there's ne printer. even if i started the PC and printer. I need to restart OO. So i think OO askes windos fo the printer infomation. Isn't it possible to start this demand only if i really want to print? i don't want to have everything runnig only when i want to type somethong. this is really annoying. greetz Beppo

TM->SBA: Seems to be a printing problem ? Could you please have a look at this one ? Thanks !
Reassigned to Hasan.
Could not reproduce it. Please send us your observation tool and the printdriver. Thanks
This is the printer-driver i'm using with my winXP: ftp://ftp.epson.de/pub/de/driver/epl/epl57lg.exe i couln'd send it, because it's about 8MB. This driver is the only one and there's none without the observation utils. This observation util only works over LAN if there's only tcp/ip and not ipx installed. On the WinME Pc where's the printer connected to i'm using the standard drivers from cd: http://www.hedertal.de/winepl57l.zip
it is abviously an windows network problem.
