Description jmills 2002-04-02 15:26:36 UTC
set a zoom setting of, say, 100% for a slide in "slide view". then if you
select "notes" view, zoom to, say, 100%, then switch back to slide view
and back to notes view, OOo has reverted to the default view in both the slide
and the notes view.

I beleive that OOo is not storing the user's selected zoom value.

this is particularly annoying if you are editing slides and notes.. you are
always having to re-zoom on the notes view especially on a laptop where the
notes text at default size is illegible as it it too small.

Please can the default zoom value be preserved over screen changes? (should
you preserve it between OOo editing sessions too?)

Hello Kai, this one is for you (one bug to this problem is 96996).

Comment 4 clippka 2002-12-02 11:44:07 UTC
this is indeed the same as the ibis bug 96996

Andrè, this is an oldtimer that somehow needs to be solved with the
new three pane view concept. Please contact me on this one

I will take care of this when implementing the new UI.

I will look at this when implementing the new UI.
The main task will be to specify the desired behaviour. The
implementation should be easier with the use of sub-shells.

This is a new feature.
With the new Impress architecture there are two ways to do this:
1) Store the zoom factor and other values at the ViewShellBase object under a
key that is unique for every combination of view shell type and pane identifier
(left or center).
2) Do not destroy a view shell after switching to another. Store it in a cache
and push it back on the stack of view shells when it it eventually re-activated.
This, however, will probably lead to a memory problem.

Change type to DEFET: once a bug, always a bug. Besides, I will introduce
something like a Configuration to the PaneManager that stores which panes are
visible for a certain center pane view shell. The zoom factor would fit in nicely.

Because of limited resource for OOo2.0, it was decided to shift this tasks to
the next milestone. If somebody will be found, who can implement this until
OOo2.0, then this tasks will be re-targeted.
