The steps I followed to find out this probable bug.

 1. Created a table in writer.
 2. Wrote some text in one cell.
 3. Then selected line break thru "Insert/Manual Break/Line Break" ,it is 
working fine as per the definition.
But the problem is 
 4. When I selected column break thru "Insert/Manual Break/Column Break", There 
is no change. But it is working fine in regular paragraph (Which is not in a 
table). 

Please go through this issue. This may be a defect or enhancement.

MRU->OS: slightly inconsistent behaviour.  In floating text, a new paragraph
with attribute "column break" is created (also when no multi-column is
available). I tables, this should behave the same and a new paragraph should be
inserted.
