Description kingshome 2004-12-04 16:43:09 UTC
OS= Suse 9.2
ooo 1.1.4 rc1

Procedure:
Use ooo draw to produce a 3d object, e.g. a simple cube.
Copy the object
Switch to writer
Paste the object.
The little watch timer appears, and then ooo crashes, and the error report box
appears.

Occasionally it does not crash but just sits there with the timer. I have to
kill it to proceed.

The crash is reproducible on every occasion a 3d object is copied and pasted.
There is no problem with 2d objects.

I have tested the same procedures with 1.1.4 rc1 on W2K, and there is no problem
with copying and pasting any drawing objects.

If I open a writer file that already contains a 3d object (produced on the W2K
machine) and try to copy and paste the 3d object into a draw page, then the
object shows the handles, but does not appear in the colours it was in the
original, or with any lines. If I try to modify the object in any way ooo hangs
and I have to kill it to proceed.

I've now solved this. I need to switch off OpenGL in Linux (tho not in W2K),
and then 3D objects copy OK

If you have solved it could you close this issue then, please?
Comment 3 kingshome 2004-12-05 16:05:44 UTC
I would if I could. As far as I can make out, I don't have the permission to
do that.

Yes, I also had a look at this, and it looks like an Open GL problem on Linux.
No problems on Win and Solaris. on Linux, I had many display problems, but no
crash. Seems to be a problem of the Graphics adapter specific X-Server.
