Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 38451
After import, bullet character looks too rough
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:29 UTC
when the attached PowerPoint presentation is imported, the bullet character looks significantly rougher in OOo than it does in MS Word. See attachments.

Created attachment 20129 [details] Slide as it appears in PowerPoint
Created attachment 20131 [details] Slide as it appears in Impress
Reassigned to Christian.
I can reproduce the bug. I think it's an antialiasing issue.
->cgu: Yep. Have to interpolate bitmaps, when scaling them up. This is nice-to-have, but not required for 2.0, thus reduced the prio. ->cl: And another note: this is not only a problem for the slideshow, already the normal Impress slide view shows the problem. Thus, this affects also the outliner.
Adding dina as cc
Retargetted to 2.0.1, p4 is not that important. @ayaniger : OTOH, I've improved overall graphic rendering quality for m90 (which of course also affects graphical bullets), could you grab a recent milestone and check whether it's already okay?
@ayaniger: ah, I should add: those improvements are _only_ in a running slideshow, not in the normal edit mode.
@thb: I'd tried to look on the Windows m91 version at the slide show for the attached file, Bullets_1.ppt, but activating the slide show didn't show me anything. The main Impress Window was no longer active, but the slide show didn't come up. All I get after a click is the black screen telling me to click again to exit the presentation.
@ayaninger: could you try to run the slideshow in windowed mode (Slideshow->Slideshow settings->Type Window)? @wg: can you reproduce the "empty slideshow" effect in m91? That would then be a different, though hefty issue.
Running the slideshow in windowed mode doesn't help. I just see a black screen.
@ayaninger: Ah. Your presentation is in master page edit-mode, initially after loading. Leave it by deselecting View->Master->Slide Master, and then everything should work. @wg, @cl: Christian, Wolfram, if anyone of you is listening, I consider it a separate bug that in this case, the "Exit master page" floater does not show up.
I deselected View->Master->Slide Master, and ran the slide show, but I still don't see the slide, whether in windowed mode or default mode.
@ayaniger: Cannot reproduce that. @wg: could you try to verify that, please?
The black slide effect in window mode is reproducible. In full screen mode the master tollbar comes up, I can wipe the screeen with it. Rough bullets reprducible in normal view.

Retargeted, due to resource constraints.
