Description sparcmoz 2004-12-09 11:13:56 UTC
I use ssh tunnel, it works fine for normal cvs work but if i do this i only get
about 60% of the modules, and was same for m62:

export CVSROOT=:pserver:sparcmoz@localhost:/cvs

cvs co -r SRC680_m64 OpenOffice

others see this too:

Independently of this, user in our local IRC told me about the same behavior.
Comment 2 Martin Hollmichel 2004-12-09 12:23:11 UTC
the animations alias is still open, see 38615.

the default_images and postprocess stuff works for me, you can verify the alias
with the cvs co -c command. please let me know, if this is not working for you.

Comment 3 sparcmoz 2004-12-10 04:12:40 UTC
This issue is not duplicate, it is very different from 38615.

The problem for this issue 38730 is that maybe 20 or 30 modules (i didnt
count) are missing when checking out OpenOffice via ssh tunnel but they come
down OK from anoncvs.

This problem is not new, but the fix is easy so i will leave it resolved now
and re-open again if m65 shows the same problem. I know this is hard to
investigate as there are so many steps in the process where things may go
wrong.
Comment 4 sparcmoz 2004-12-16 06:29:43 UTC
I see the same problem again with SRC680_m65:

$ mkdir ooo_m65
$ cd ooo_m65
$ export CVSROOT=:pserver:sparcmoz@localhost:/cvs
$ cvs co -r SRC680_m65 OpenOffice

Attached are:
- log from first cvs checkout in a completely new source directory
- list.txt of modules created
- list2.txt of modules after same checkout second time.

Comment 8 sparcmoz 2004-12-16 06:45:40 UTC
This is not a huge problem for me, i can get more modules from anoncvs or
one-by-one when the build stops.

I have attached the listings just in case it means something to someone who
knows about this thing. I am happy to run any other tests when directed.
Comment 9 sparcmoz 2004-12-20 11:25:56 UTC
could this be related or just somthing ephemeral?

jim@sun:~/ooo_m65$ cvs status binfilter
User sparcmoz doesn't have <VersionControl - Read> access to project binfilter

Comment 10 Martin Hollmichel 2004-12-20 11:33:06 UTC
I granted you now access to all modules, does this change anything ?
Comment 11 sparcmoz 2004-12-21 06:22:08 UTC
I made a fresh directory and did:
export CVSROOT=:pserver:sparcmoz@localhost:/cvs
cvs co -r SRC680_m66 OpenOffice

The list of files from first attempt is attached, it looks much better this time
thanks.

Missing modules now are:
instsetoo_native (very obvious, so not a big problem)
default_images, postpostrocess (known issues)

So I think it now WORKSFORME

reassign back for closing ?
Comment 14 sparcmoz 2004-12-21 21:53:45 UTC
Maybe the permissions get re-set? The cvs status runs anyway...

I will close this because anoncvs provides the required features, and there is
no need to support source checkouts through the cvs tunnel. I can make a new
issue if the problem later affects cws tools.
