The OOo 1.0.3 word processor fails to recognize bookmarks in Word documents
hyperlinked to each other.

Did you try with newer versions of OOO? 1.0.3 is very old so please upgrade to
1.1.4 or even 2.0 snapshot build and try again. Meanwhile there have been many
bugfixes in OOo.
For the case, the problem still occurs, please reopen issue AND attach a sample
document, which shows the problem.

In fact hyperlink with bookmark in MS-Word format document works well unless
bookmark names do not contain accentuated letter.
I will attach an archive with 2 files test1.doc and test2.doc. Open test1.doc
with OOo and ctrl-click on each hyperlink. The link on word "Was" open file
test2.doc but at the beginning instead of at the word "Was".
Both links on words "suddenly" work well (jump to the same "suddenly" in test2.doc).
Tested with OOo 3.0.1 FR and OOO310m5 (lang-pack FR) on Ubuntu 8.04.

Sorry I made a mistake in my previous comment. Please read as follows :
In fact hyperlink with bookmark in MS-Word format document works well unless
bookmark's name contains an accentuated letter.

MRU->HBRINKM: see attached document, the imported hyperlinks in it cannot be
executed, e.g. Writer is not possible to find the target document.

Accentuated letters not incriminated (on MAC OSX).
After discussion on the French forum
(http://user.services.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15493&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a),
it seems that the remark made above by JBFaure is true only for Windows XP :
there the problem is only with accentuated letters in the bookmark. But the
problem is trickier on MAC OS, where OpenOffice fails to reach the bookmark even
with  non-accentuated letters. I made a set of tests, please see the compressed
files in ANCHOR_TESTS.zip
