Description Unknown 2002-04-14 14:38:38 UTC
It would like to tell a problem that I have found in installing
dictionaries on version 641D, in any language. Problems had occurred in
particular with dictionary pt_PT, for language Portuguese of
Portugual, therefore, when I install the dictionary following
recomentations, the same isn't located for the OpenOffice, that
always indicates doesn't have joined the archive pt_P.aff, when in the
truth it would have to look to the archive pt_PT.aff. What I must
make to solve this problem?

Hi
Does this belong in Lang or in l10n? Please clarify. I am only the
coordinator of the lang project, not the dictionary maker...

Hi Louis,

This is mine.

There are two issues here:

1. the previous pt_PT.aff file had some bugs that caused
memory corruption. Please grab the very latest version of
pt_PT.zip and following the installation instructions on:

http://whiteboard.openoffice.org/lingucomponent/
download_dictionary.html

2. Once a dictioanry has been added to the dictionary.lst file
In your case by adding the line (please remember to hit "enter"
or "return" after typing the line info

DICT pt PT pt_PT

You still need to go to Tools->Options->LanguageSettings->
Writing-Aids and then hit the Edit" button to tell OOo which
dictionaries you want active for that session using the pulldown
menu and the checkboxes.

Then you must exit out of OOo and Quickstarter and restart OOo.

All of this is documented on the URL I sent to you.

We are working on a cross-platform way to automate the
dictionary install for users.

Hope this helps,

Please e-mail me directly if you are still having problems.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi,

Did my instructions fix the issue. I would like to close this issue
but would like to hear back from you about it first.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Khendricks, moan to inform but its instructions had not functioned
with version 641D, the dictionary for the portugual Portuguese.
Exactly following its instructions in the installation and the edition
of the archive dictionary.lst, when I always try to write something
and the auto- correction function is activated occurs a irretrievable
error and the program continues to abort. This problem has only
occurred with version 641D, already with version 64Ç everything
occurs upper-class.
Thanks.

Hi,

I simply can not recreate your error at all.

I am closing this one as "WorksForMe".

Please try OOo 1.0.0 and let me know if you still run into problems
and provide the exact instructions on how you installed the
dictionary.

Kevin
