Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 40529
Lost Styles Formatting
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
1. I created a Template called "Turabian". 2. In that Template, I create a tandem styles for starting a Chapter called _Chapter and _ChapterLabel. 3. Here's how it works in 1.1.1 >= OOo Writer >= 1.1.4: a. Before anything else, we have to make sure that the outline numbering is set correctly. Tools>Outline Numbering. Then in Numbering Tab:: Level: 1; Paragraph Style: _Chapter. Then we can start using the Template. b. To start a Chapter; We open the Styles Window (F11); select Paragraph Styles under Custom Styles. Double-click _Chapter; press <ENTER>. c. Then start typing the Chapter Title. <ENTER> d. Then start typing the body or heading. 4. The result of the above sequence of actions would be: a. From the insertion point, a new page will be created. Then the words "Chapter 1" (or whatever chapter it's currently in) will appear centered 2 inches from the top. b. After pressing <ENTER>, the cursor should move below and would now have the style _ChapterLabel; then the title of the Chapter can be typed in. c. After pressing <ENTER>, the cursor should move below, now with the _BodyText style. 5. This works okay with OOo Writer 1.1.1 and below; got messed up in 1.1.2 and 1.1.3; got fixed in 1.1.4. 6.Then in 1.9.69, after pressing <ENTER> (in 3-b above); the words "Chapter 1" disappears. 7. I have attached the url for the file with the Template in use. Thank you very much.
My Environment: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional SP4 Dell Precision 650, Intel Xeon 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM OpenOffice.org 2.0 Beta (1.9.79) I can confirm that I see this behaviour too.
MRU->DVO: the outline from certain .sxw is completely lost as you can see in the sample file (see URL field)..
Considering the effort, the priority, the risk and our resource planning I've to retarget this issue to OOo Later.
