Description ajoe 2005-01-31 12:34:34 UTC
-Open a global Document File, with some sub files.
-unlock some of these sub files
-start the change modus ("Bearbeiten-Änderungen-aufzeichnen")
-make some changes on in the global document in the text of the unlocked sub files
-now save the global document.

->reopen the global document and it displays only some of the changes, but when
you look into the content.xml there are all changes with an change-id, BUT you
can only find some of these change-id's also in the text of the global document
in the content.xml.
(some change-ids are twice in the content.xml - change and text and some
change-ids are only once there - change and not in the text).
Text: Only some of the text is displayed with the changes in the global
document. Some text and the changes of that text are missing completely in the
OOoWriter Frontend. (But you can find all changes in the content.xml!)

reassigned to ES.

1) This is due to the fact that sub docs are only linked sections. Modifications
done in such sections are not saved back in the sub documents.

This is a feature we should address for OOo 3.0

2) Even if a sub doc contains visible changes, those won't appear as is in the
master doc.

We should address this as well for OOo 3.0

to 1) It's _not_ so important that these changes get saved!! More important is
that the user now has the possibility to change the text and when he saves it,
he _assume_ (and that is right!) that these changes get saved.

When he opens it again, they are not back there and that is the problem! So
maybe it is not that easy to save them, but than the user HAS to be informed in
dialog or what ever that tell him _before_ the modification that he can't save
them or _after_ the modification when he saves the document, how he can save
them, maybe to export the global file to a normal sxw file!!!

The problem is that the user can expire a DATA LOSS like in my case and THAT
_hurts_ every user!
Because of the Data loss it should be Priority 2 (P2)
