Description richlv 2005-02-09 09:05:32 UTC
select 'rectangle' from a drawing toolbar. draw an object.

writer, calc, base : drawing mode is enabled after the first object, allowing to
draw another.
impress, draw : drawing mode is disabled after drawing an object.

i believe this behaviour should be consistent between applications, so that user
is not confused "why can't i draw a second object immediately ?"

especially impress & draw should stay in drawing mode, because in these two
applications drawings will be made more often and reselecting tool every time is
anti-productive.

so suggestion is : make drawing tools 'stay' selected after drawing an object in
impress and draw.

Reassigned.

Confirmed with 1.9.79+WinXP.

Additional comment: In f.e. Writer, the drawing mode stays enabled, but this is
not signalled to the user: The corresponding toolbar symbol is not highlighted.
In Draw, unfortunately, the draw mode is disabled after every object, but this
is at least signalled to the user since the "select" icon is highlighted.
I agree with richlv's suggestion.
