Description norbert2 2005-02-17 21:03:43 UTC
please ...

- create a new folder
- create a new OOo-document
- save the document into this folder
- close the document, not the GUI!
- try to delete the file: it works as expected
- try to delete the folder: an error message appears!
- close the OOo GUI: Now the folder can be deleted.

(can also be reproduce with OOo 1.9.77)

Hi norbert2,

thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org....

I did the following on Linux (JDS) and on Solaris/SPARC: using m79...:
- in shell: mkdir TEST
- opened OOo
- created a new document (test.odt) in folder TEST
- closed the document but left the Office open
- in shell: cd TEST
- in shell: rm test.odt          ==> test.odt was deleted
- in shell: cd .. ==> leaving the folder TEST
- in shell: rmdir TEST ==> folder TEST was deleted with OOo left open...

==> this works for me...

Which OS do you use?
Please try if this works in m79 on your system, too

Thanks...

"I did the following on Linux"

In this case it seems to be a Windows-only problem. I have tested it on three
Computers, one running WindowsXP, two Windows 2000. The same problem on all
three Computers.

(I just have downloaded ant tested OOo 1.9.79: the same problem!)

So I re-open this issue with OS=Windows.

Sorry, I cannot change OS type. I hope someone will do this.

Hi Norbert2

according to your posting I change this to OS=Windows2000....

Please try the following:
- Tools -> Options -> general
     There you can find a check box called "use OpenOffice.orgs dialogs" ( or so...)

- Check this box...

Does this effect occur then, too?
Comment 5 norbert2 2005-02-18 14:03:53 UTC
"use OpenOffice.orgs dialogs"

I have done so: Now the problem does NOT occur!

So I think the summary should be changed since this only happens with
Windows-dialogs.

Hi norbert2,

thanks for your response...

This is a problem which occurs only by using the windows system dialog...

We are not able to fix this bug of Windows. Only Microsoft can do this... :(

Out of this reason I need to close this issue now...
Comment 7 mci 2005-02-18 14:10:22 UTC
closing since this issue not fixable by us...

Another problem with Windows-dialogs: Issue 15530
