Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 43191
FAQ collaboration: Broken images in answer
Last modified: 2005-08-06 17:05:41 UTC
Source is at OOoAuthors. Images in the answer at Writer/faqwriterfont/045.html are broken.
OOoAuthors file has non-functional images too: http://oooauthors.org/FAQs/Writer/faqwriterfont/045 The original source has images: http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/word_processing/045.html Which is kinda funny, ain't it? :) So.... I guess we can just move the images to folders where images are needed, once we get things settled?

1. Updated the URL field (above) to point to new location of faq spider's output file. 2. Reassigned issue to the user-faq project.
Handling of images in the FAQ folders at OOoAuthors is awkward, because an FAQ folder only allows FAQ folders or FAQ items to be placed into them by design. An image is a different file type. Therefore, I would like to place copies of the images needed for the new-faq set into a directory under the new-faq directory at the user-faq project called images. Then the URLs in the FAQs at OOoAuthors can target their images in the new images directory. This will allow the output of the spider to remain in working order also, if placing an images directory in the new-faq directory in the user-faq project space will not break the spider. mackmoon > kcarr: Is this an acceptable solution? mackmoon > kcarr: May I try this approach with this FAQ to test that it will work?
Images for this faq has been placed in user-faq/www/new-faq/images. The OOoAuthors HTML has been edited to target these images: http://oooauthors.org/en/FAQs/Writer/faqwriterfont/045/faqentry_view Results can be determined after the next faq-spider update.
Repaired targets have now reached new-faq directory, so issue is resolved.
Closed.
