new calc
merge e.g. 'A1:B1' and 'C1:D1'
type '1<enter>'  in 'A1:B1'
select 'A1:B1'
copy
select 'C1:D1'
paste
-> MsgBox 'Cell merge not posible if cells already merged'
this Box shouldn't appear if source and target have identical merge status (see
Excel)
