Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 43594
after re-starting OOo, Tasks, Navigator and Stylist cannot be undocked
Last modified: 2005-04-15 13:31:00 UTC
- please open impress - dock Tasks, Navigator and Stylist as shown in the attached screenshot - Close OOo - re-open impress: Now try to undock one of these three windows. It does not work! You have to close Navigator and stylist via menu and then Taks can be undocked! I think this bug really should be fixed in the 2.0 final! (Another thing: Why has the Tsks window such another (more modern looking) style and a X-button if docked, while Navigator and Stylist still have these old style and no X-button if docked??? I think this new style could be adopted also for Navigator and Stylist. Do I have to submit a framework or UI issue therefor?.
Created attachment 23063 [details] screenshot
(please also have a look at issue 43579 and issue 43595)
Such problems (undocking does not work after restarting OOo) can also be reproduced in other OOo applications (I have found it in writer), when docking stylist over navigator. I also found that sometimes if I place stylist over navigator after restarting they are placed side by side, and also have problems with undocking. It looks like the GUI (especially docking of windows) should be properly tested and fixed before OOo 2.0 final.

I'll have a look. The priority is lowered to 3 as it is no crash or data loss.
(Another thing: the stylist and navigator are still using the old docking window implementation and therefore have a standard window manager decoration. This will be changed after OOo 2.0 as it could not be finished earlier. It is not required to file an issue but you may do so if you want.)
->ssa: I have already filed an issue therfor: "Another thing" is issue 43595
Undocking did not work because the notification that a docked window became really visible (INITSHOW) was not send under some circumstances. This led to improperly initialized Sfx docking windows that did not allow undocking anymore. Fixed in CWS VCL37.
please verify in CWS vcl37 re-open issue and reassign to tm@openoffice.org
