1. Open a new document and open the Bibliography Database from the Tools menu.
2. Create a new entry with a very long title( 16 pages of 'a' in this case ).
Use an arbitrary short name.
3. Close the database and go back to the document. Select "Bibliography
Entry..." from the "Insert"->"Indexes and Tables" menu.
4. Select the radio button for "From bibliography database".
5. From the dropdown menu, choose the entry you just created.

After choosing this, the Writer hangs for a while. It recovered after about 30
minutes and worked normally, but any activity that involved displaying the title
name in the message box (i.e. looking at the entries information) caused the
program to hang again.

ES->OS: Though it does not make sense to paste so much text in a DB field, there
seems to be a performance problem here.

I agree that a title this long is unreasonable. However, the trend with other
bibliographic software seems to be to allow longer and longer descriptions and
abstracts. Some people use these fields to store an overviews of a long paper or
book, or a detailed abstract, or a perspective document that relates a subset of
papers in the library. I don't use EndNote (the bibliography manager that I use)
that way, but I am hard pressed to say that it is an invalid use in principle.
