Description fengmake 2005-03-07 20:01:14 UTC
1) In Calc, verify that AutoCorrect is on. (Tools | AutoCorrect... | Options |
Replace 1/2 ... with 1/2 ...)

2) Format a cell as Date. (Format | Cells... | Numbers | Date | 12/31/1999)

3) In the cell, enter '3/4'.

Note that the number is not parsed as a date to the current year, but is changed
to the charcter 3/4.

I realize that with AutoCorrect enabled this is expected bahavior, except I
would not expect that behavior in a date cell which is already parsing the data
to determine the date format.

Hi,

autocorrection takes place directly after confirming the value. At this time the
numberformat isn't known to the autocorrect facilities. To solve the problem
switch off the conversion of fractions in autocorrection.

I changed this to an enhancement and re-assign it.
