Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 44637
date format don't remain
Last modified: 2005-04-03 13:45:03 UTC
User add date format ex. dd.mm.yyyy is ok when you add it but when you read the file (odt) there is always mm/dd/yy that stupid us. format. So my format settings don't stay on file.
Reassigned to ES.
Please explain step by stwp what you do, get and expect.
insert field --> other --> (only ugly american formats) so add date --> additional formats... --> dd.mm.yyyy and yes there should be system format but there is not! (and system is dd.mm.yyyy) so i get 09.03.2005 (nice...) save file --> exit start writer --> read file --> format is 03/09/05 so is there something on setups which force that or my installation is broke or what? version is 1.9.79
OK! It works OK if I made a new file! I take OO 1.1.2 document edit it and save (odt) and read it and date format goes wrong!
I must miss something in your description: I do following (and can't reproduce the problem): - Insert - Fields - Date - double click on the inserted field -> fields dialog comes up with the date format - click on Additional formats - Replace "MM/DD/YYYY" with "dd.mm.yyyy" in the Format code field - click on the check mark button in front of the format code field - click ok - click ok again - save as odt - reload -> same date I've done this also with an sxw file containng such a date and create in OOo 1.1.x. Also fron an sxw file created with the beta -> no problem Please try to see differences between what you do and what I do. Also precise which system locales you have and which OOo language you have
Unable to confirm using 1.9.84. Following jlu's instructions (Thu Mar 10 03:23:38), the date format remained correct when I reopened the file. If you want me to, I can look up my locales and such, but its pretty much standard Windows 2000 SP4 out the box. Beautiful American formats and all :)
no answer since March 10.
