Description goa103 2005-03-18 11:10:11 UTC
OOo has some pretty powerful but tricky wrapping features. On XHTML pages the
approach is a bit different, we use CSS styles. And to make a graphics to float
in a text, on its left for example, we can just apply a float left property to
the graphics... And then it floats. To avoid the next objects (paragraphs,
headings...) from floating to its right, we can use the clear property that
avoid the objets from floating. It kind of cancel the floating effects.

Discussion these features in the « How can I force OOo to break before a Heading
? » topic at http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=5063, it seems no
one was able to find the OOo equivalent to the float and clear CSS properties.
The first paragraph wrap options allows us to clear the wrapping, the floating,
for the next paragraph... But we can't clear the wrapping for a heading for
example. There are some breaks features to change the text flow, for example we
can break the heading to a new page.

As a result it seems impossible in OOo to make multiple paragraphs to float
beside a graphics or any other objects. There's the first paragraph limitation.

So the idea would be to provide OOo users with an equivalent to the clear CSS
property. I will attach some screenshots of what I get and what I would like to get.
