Which drawing object do you mean? Where is the problem?.
Please reopen when you'll have a correct step by step description.

I mean the star!

Just have a look at the attached screenshot. The borders of the formula can be
seen through the star.

Those are only the boundaries (visual element) which allow to locate object
behind others.
They won't be printed.

I know that these lines are not printed. But nevertheless it's a bug:

Such lines are also shown for tables with border size = 0. And these lines are
NOT shown through drawings.

See attached document.

@es: please be more careful with closing issues

Don't know why, it must be a bug. As I wrote above, seeing the outline of
objects behind drawings is allows to spot them vwhen they are hidden.
And that this does not hapen for other object looks like a missing feature.
Therefore -> enhancement.

Both points of view (bug in one way or feature in other way) could be endless
discussed. The fact is that seeing the guidlines beeind drawings or not is a p5.
And therefore, due to workload and dev costs, could be closed immediatly as WONTFIX.

But we'll give it a try...
Comment 12 norbert2 2005-03-28 20:06:58 UTC
It is a inconsitency between the boundaries of different objects as you can see,
and therfore a bug!
Comment 13 norbert2 2005-03-28 20:09:07 UTC
@es: formulas are the ONLY OBJECT which boundaries are shown through drawing!

I hope you can now understand why this is a bug and change the issue back to Bug...
Comment 14 lohmaier 2005-03-28 20:39:21 UTC
defect or enhancement is to be decided in an objective way, not of the
subjective feelings of the user.

If "OOo does what the programmers wanted OOo to do" then it is not a bug, even
when the user thinks "OOo should do it differently".

You can call the inconsistency a design-bug but still OOo does what the
programmers had in mind.

If the programmers write some code that calculates 2+2=5 (and the programmers
intended it this way) then it is not a bug. It may not be intuitive and
therefore should be changed, but this would be an enhancement request.

But es already pointed out: Someone has to pay the developers. The benefit of
"fixing" this one is so small that "management" probably decides to fix real
bugs instead of changing the current behaviour. Find someone to provide a patch
and there may be a chance to have it changed...

Virtually nobody would notice when the behaviour is changed. Virtually will
notice the current inconsistency. So why bother? "There are bigger fish to catch..."
anyway: confirming, modifying summary a bit.

Find someone to write a patch or expect this issue to be unchanged a long time...

@es: sorry, I have read over your sentence:
"And that this does not hapen for other object looks like a missing feature.
Therefore -> enhancement."

I agree that it should be discussed if all boundaries should be shown or not shown.

But all should behave identical. That's the sense of this issue.

So the "should not be" in the summery should be replaced with "are".

After thinking more... In my oppinion ALL such borders should NOT be displayed
in front of drawing objects...

So the summary can be kept as is...
