Description tluft 2005-03-30 12:57:38 UTC
When I add fields which contain date info the date is written in English
although I am using a localized build of Ooo 2.0 beta (1.9.79). It should read
"30. März 2005" but it reads "30. March 2005".
Sorry if this is a duplicate bug, but searching is really difficult for a casual
user.
Comment 1 andreschnabel 2005-03-31 19:36:04 UTC
I cannot confirm this with OOo 2.0 beta or m88 (Win XP, german localization).

Behaviour is as expected: the Windows locale settings are used.

Could you check your settings in windows system settings, "Regional und
ländereinstellungen"? Ooo schould disply the Dagte as defined there.

If the date format differs, pleas provide more information about your
environment (Windows localization, Windews system settings, OOo settings at
"Extras Optionen - Spracheinstellungen")
Comment 2 tluft 2005-03-31 21:54:31 UTC
I just checked my settings and everything is correct. If I open a new document
and insert the date field everything is correct so I can confirm that the error
can not be reproduced when one is using Ooo in a normal way.

But the error occurs if you are using one of the "Assistenten" for private
letters (in my case).
Comment 3 andreschnabel 2005-04-17 10:19:17 UTC
several wizards create documents / templates, that have non localized content.

one example is as described by tluft:
- create a private letter with a german localized OOo
- insert a date field in the newly created document

the date format would be english (US).

confirmed with OOo 1.9.93 on WinXP
setting keywords, reassign to Word Processor
Comment 4 andreschnabel 2005-04-17 10:22:51 UTC
I checked the templates under <ooodir>/share/template/de/ and found that some of
them are saved with en_US locaization information.

If this was of help, I could check all the german templates, set the
localization info to de_DE and attach them to this issue. Pleas tell me, if I
should do so (or if there is a better / faster way).

Reassigned to HI.
Comment 6 h.ilter 2005-04-18 12:41:38 UTC
HI->TV: Please take a look.
Comment 7 andreschnabel 2005-04-18 19:19:58 UTC
could you please reconsider the target milestone? If most of the wizards produce
wrong documents for localized versions, this would be a stopper to me.

If there is a way to speed things up and I (or germanophone / native lang
projects) could help, pleas tell us.
Comment 8 tluft 2005-04-18 23:58:09 UTC
I am willing to help translate if someone tells me where to change the files.
IMHO the wizards should work correctly in a localized environment when Ooo 2.0.0
is released.
Comment 9 andreschnabel 2005-04-20 19:05:27 UTC
just to add: the problem still occures im m93 built by paveljanik
Comment 10 andreschnabel 2005-04-27 18:12:47 UTC
ok, as there has not been any answer, I've gone through all the German wizard
templates.

All but templates for agenda and lettres are ok.

I'll attach corrected tmeplates for agenda and letters. I'd ask you to include
these in the source tree and set target to OOo 2.0.

If this is not possible, please tell me at least why.
(Offering help without getting answer is not very funny)

Agenda templates - GErman localized
Comment 13 andreschnabel 2005-04-27 18:42:42 UTC
attached files are based on m95 templates. The only thing I did was to set the
language to de_DE in the default paragraph style.
Comment 14 tom 2005-05-18 08:20:39 UTC
TV: This task cannot be reproduced in SRC680:m104 any longer.

Comment 15 tom 2005-05-18 08:23:16 UTC
TV->andreschnabel: Thanks for your patch, but in the mean time this task has
been fixed on a different end.
Comment 16 andreschnabel 2005-05-19 12:05:29 UTC
just checked with m104.

At least letter templates are localized now (I guess, agenda templates are as well).

-> verifying and glosing

I'll set target to 2.0, just to track, that it will be ok in OOo 2.0
Comment 17 andreschnabel 2005-05-19 12:06:31 UTC
closing.

Note: tluft - remove your votes, so that you can use it for other issues ;-)
Comment 18 thackert 2006-07-02 09:36:44 UTC
Hi tluft, andreschnabel, *,
as I have tested the wizards during my TCM test as well, I have seen, that the letter wizard ist still ok,
but the agenda wizard produces an agenda with English language as the character default, so the
spellchecker shows all the inserted German text as wrong. So I think, this issue should be reopened and
rechecked.
I am using the Germanophone version of 2.0.3 m7 under Debian Etch here.
