Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46390
Address Book Data Source Wizard does not support Thunderbird address books
Last modified: 2006-05-31 14:29:06 UTC
Since OOo 2.0, we support accessing Thunderbird address books. For instance, the wizard which appears with File|New|Database offers to connect to a TB address book. Unfortunately, the wizard used to set up an address book data source (File|Templates|Address Book Source) does not support this. We should enhance the wizard with access to TB address books, as this is an important new feature in 2.0, and TB is gaining more and more importance in our user base.
correction: The wizard in question can be opened with File | Wizards | Address Data Source ... (mixed this up with another issue)

OOo 1.9.95 crashes when trying to connect to thunderbird adressbook under linux using the [settings]- button in the wizard and choosing "thunderbird adress book" Since this is a really basic feature, this needs to be done befor OOo release. KAdressbook support is mandatory as well.
dennybeyer, please submit separate issues for the crash the the KAddressBook-enhancement (see http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#one_per_issue). Thanks.
