Videos cant play in PPT format
Comment 4 cbelch 2002-10-15 11:06:02 UTC
I am having problems getting video's to play in PPT file ...

Attached 2 files (sxi & ppt).
For both files ...

I have inserted the clips via 'Insert', 'Object', 'OLE
Object ...', 'Create from file', 'Search ...', etc.

I activate the clip by right clicking the object and
selecting 'Interaction ...', 'Start object action', 'Play'.

I run the slide show and when clicked the clip plays no problem.

So what's my problem? When I save the file in PPT format it looses
the interaction settings (only option is 'Edit') when it is
reopened! Video will not play!

Note: When saved in SXI format the video is fine when reopened!

Thank you, in advance,
Cheryl ;o)

Being able to play video files in an running Impress presentation.
Note: This seems to be a MS PPT import issue, too.

Hi Kai,
can you please takeover this Issue. I think it should be possible to
play mpg files if we are integrating the Java Media Framework.

Comment 10 ooo 2003-11-03 10:24:51 UTC
will be possible with JMF integration
Comment 11 ooo 2004-07-29 11:35:38 UTC
The fundamentals of this task have been integrated according to the following spec:
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/media_player/MediaPlayer.sxw. Handling PPt
import and export based on this new feature will be handled by task #i32286

This issue is almost the same as i6880 and i3316. For an easier handling I will
set two of the issues as duplicates. The problem will be fixed with integration
of the usage of jmf.
