Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46640
Edit picture properties after URL assignment
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:35:51 UTC
I'm unable to edit picture properties after an URL has been assigned to the picture. Right-clicking on the picture doesn't work, left-clicking always executes the href. Even feigning disinterest and then rapidly point-and-clicking isn't enough to catch this url-guarded picture off guard to access its properties.
In the status bar, there's a field "HYP". Click on it, so that "SEL" will appear in the field. This switches between executing Hyperlinks and election referred object.

Thank you for the tip. Would you consider at least changing this to an enhancement feature? If you look for example at how browsers, such as Firefox work, even when images are hyperlinked, you can get to the image properties with a right mouse click. As it is, I apparently get a properties menu for the image's paragraph. Since the HYP setting is the default, I found the behaviour rather non-intuitive and I could envisage a few support questions arising from this small issue. Also, my first reaction when right-clicking didn't work was to look for a hyperlink enable/disable button next to the "paragraph" button (Non-printing characters display).
The picture properties should be accessible via context menu when a hyperlink is assigned to a graphic and the selection mode is set to "HYP".
