Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46758
SpellChecker Stops Working When Default Language Changed
Last modified: 2013-02-24 20:34:29 UTC
When I changed the default language in Options/Language Settings/Languages, the Spellcheck features stop working. Both Check and AutoSpellCheck fail to work. Check will start at the top of the document and go to the end and not find any errors. AutoSpellCheck will not underline any possible spelling errors in red. This problem has occured in all the OOo-2.0 Snapshot Builds and also the 2.0 Beta (1.9.79) I have installed. The dictionaries (DICT, HYPH & THES) were downloaded and installed using DicOOo.sxw (as root) and installed globally. I changed the default language (as user) to : Language of : Locale Setting = English (Australia), Decimal separator key = (ticked) Same as locale setting, Default Currency = AUD, Default Languages for Documents : Western = English (Australia). I have also checked language being used by highlighting a word on the document and gone to Format->Character->Font, which says English (Australia). The English (Australia) dictionaries are ticked as installed in all pulldowns. I have tried using OOo-1.9.87 as root and SpellChecker still fails to work. This appears to be the same problem as Issue#18370, but when I use OOo-1.1.2 (FC2) the spellchecker works properly.
Have downloaded and installed 1.9.91 and problem still same.
I have downloaded 1.9.93 and the issue seems to be repaired. Wait for final OOo 2.0 before closing this issue in case it returns, please.
Seems to be fixed. It it ever returns, please re-open this report.
