Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46809
F1 key with open menu--> no help page found
Last modified: 2019-10-08 21:18:44 UTC
Open any main menu, but do not highlight a command. Press F1. Help Viewer cannot find a help page, it has a "slot:0" entry in the Search term box on the Find tab page. Instead of searching for slot:0, the main help page of the current application should be displayed.

I replicated the problem in version 2.3.0. There are some variations. Steps to replicate the mentioned problem: 1,Start open office, do not start a new document of any type(text, spreadsheet, etc); 2,Click on main menu File/Edit/Help, but do not highlight any submenu; 3,Press F1; 4,the openoffice.org Help writer pops up, with "slot:0" in the "Search term" text box, and a warning message box saying "No topics found." Additional: Variation 1: In step 2, I click on menu View/Tools/Window, not highlighting any submenu, then followed by step 3 and 4, the the openoffice.org Help writer pops up with a blank "Search term" text box, and there is no warning message box. Variation 2: In step 1, after office started up, start a new document of any type, or open an existing document of any type; In step 2, I click on menu Window, not highlighting any submenu, then followed by step 3 and 4, the the openoffice.org Help writer pops up with a blank "Search term" text box, and there is no warning message box; If I click on other menus and not highlighting any submenu, the openoffice.org Help writer pops up, with "slot:0" in the "Search term" text box, and a warning message box saying "No topics found."
