Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 47597
rename en_US thesaurus files (change _new to _v2)
Last modified: 2013-02-24 20:34:12 UTC
Hi for OOo2 please rename en_US thesaurus files from _new to _v2 for .dat, .idx and .zip file don't forget to update dictionary.lst file Laurent
Louis, Please reassign this to the proper person. The packagers? Or maybe Installation? All of the new, OOo2 thesarus need to use the _v2 instead of _new in their names to avoid problems of users not being able to find the modified thesarus. Thanks, Richard.
richard, will try. My guess is installation but am cc'ing st for confirmation on this. louis
Hi, if I'm not running in the wrong direction then we are talking about the thesaurus located at /external/addons/dictionaries/en_US Could you let us kow why we should switch to _v2 instead of _new? It seems that Pavel picked up the work Kevin started. But there may be other places where _new is used instead of _v2. I'm reassigning the issue to Martin as lead of external. But I think he will be glad if someone in the know helps with this issue. Thanks, Stefan
Hi _new suffixe is not explicit enough telling it is related to OOo2 _v2 is more explicit to users the file has to be used inside OOo2 what about an other change in the futur ? a _new_new suffix ? OOo crashes (1.1.4 and 1.9.100) or thesaurus silently do not work if the wrong file is used (Daniel Naber comming patch #44163) AFAIK the only concern are - the file names .dat, .idx and .zip - the dictionary.lst content located in <ooo>/share/dict/ooo should become THES en US th_en_US_v2 Note : Some other thesauruses are concerned THES bg BG th_bg_BG_new THES cs CZ th_cs_CZ_new THES en US th_en_US_new THES sk SK th_sk_SK_new Laurent
