Description mitch074 2005-05-08 02:43:12 UTC
Opening a ppt file and clicking on a page's lowest, not completely displayed
thumbnail (on the left side of the default view, bringing said incomplete
thumbnail higher on the serie of thumbnails) causes a crash in Linux, and a
crash of OOo and Explorer (severe) in Windows 2000.

Following said crash, the report tool has an unclickable -OK- button (have to
use keyboard for it). Shall I open a new issue for it?
Comment 1 mitch074 2005-05-08 03:53:36 UTC
in 1.9.100 for Windows, the crash doesn't occur any more. However, thumbnail
numbers are EXTREMELY large (think font size 144 or something). I'll check on
Linux build if the problem is the same, it could be a font-related problem
provoking a crash in 1.9.95 in both OSes, but no more crash (just a BIG array of
numbers) in build 1.9.100.

Reassigned.
Can you attach the dcoument, please? Thanks in advance.

I've tried Linux and version 1.9.100 too. The crash still occurs the same way.
I've attached both the offending ppt file and a screen capture of how to crash
Impress (and yes, I clicked there right after and I got a nice crash notice).

I can reproduce the bug.
maybe duplicate to issue 47383.
Please have a look.

47383 indeed looks similar, however it is also said to have been 'fixed' on Apr
25th. I can reproduce the crash in build 1.9.100, generated May 3rd. So either
it's the same bug but only partially fixed, the patch hadn't been committed yet
for 1.9.100, or there are several bugs affecting this same panel - build 1.9.100
for Windows doesn't crash anymore, but displays HUGE fonts for slides numbering
in slides pane (size 144 or something). Build 1.9.100 for Linux doesn't mistreat
font sizes, but does still crash.

OK. I download the file "Enfin des blagues sur les hommes.pps" and have the same
crash I reported in issue 49396, using XP and OOo 1.9.100 (You can delete my issue).

Well it seems to be two problems: font sizes and crash itself...

I keep testig and last time OOo just disappear. No crash notice, no frezze,
nothing. My way is import the document and keep clicking on thumbnails 1 to 4
until crash or disappear, going back, if necessary to click on thumbnail 1.

Certainly, after crash recover or when Slide numbers are showed right, there are
no crash at all. So... I guess the problem really is the font of the slides
numbers. Hope this is useful.

Sorry for wrong addressing of my duplicate issue, it is not 49396 but 49395. By
the way, I read it is fixed in 1.9.104, thanks.

Duplicate, see below.
Comment 15 groucho266 2005-05-19 14:57:39 UTC
This issue describes two unrelated problems, both covered by other issues:
The crash when clicking on a partially visible slide is duplicate to issue
47383. It is fixed and now part of two child work spaces, impress51 and
impress56, both of which are not yet integrated.

The problem with the big text is duplicate to issue 47134. It is not yet fixed.
