non-existing files from the "recent files" menu should be removed

If you open a file from "File|Recent documents" which does not exist anymore, all you get is an error message. It would be useful to, in such a case, also remove the respective entry from the menu, since it's probably not needed anymore. (side note: Microsoft Visual Studio does it this way)
