Description Joost Andrae 2005-07-01 16:07:38 UTC
The first dialog of the autorecovery mentions the button "Next" but on the first
dialog the button is called "Start Recovery". On the second dialog it's correct.

AS->FL: Please specify the new behaviour, so it can be implemented.
Hint: We should name the button "Next" everytimes and do not bind it's name to
the state of the dialog. But then we need a slightly adapted text above, which
describes, that this "Next" button must be pressed twice to reach the error report. If
you changed the specification please send this bug back to me. THX.

We already had changed the spec. to cover this issue, but it did not get
implemented for OOo 2.0.

Please update the dialog text according to spec.:
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/errorreporter/error_report_2_0_ui_specification.sxw
in section 6.2.1 "Document Recovery Dialog" to

"Press 'Start Recovery' to start the recovery process of the documents listed
below.\n\nThe 'Status' column shows whether the document could be recovered."

Further changes will apply to OOo 3.0.

The new spec doesn't solve the problem. The example dialog shown in 6.2.1 of the
spec clearly requests that you press BOTH "Start Recovery" AND press "Next" when
there is no "Next" button.

At present (with 1.9.109) this text also appears in the second dialog (after the
document has been recovered) which is even more confusing because then you do
have a "next" button but the first line on the screen is still asking you to
press the 'Start Recovery' button which you now don't have.

"Please help us solve the problem that caused the crash. You can do this by
sending the error report created by OpenOffice.org. Click 'Next' to open the
Error Report Tool"

This string should only appear in the second dialog after the documents have
been recovered, when there is a "next" button and that button actually takes you
to the error report.

I'll attach some screenshots to illustrate.

cd: The new spec clearly states that the description text for the first recovery
page should be changed. It's irritating that the dialog in the spec has not been
adapted to the new text.
