Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 51483
Autocorrect in columns
Last modified: 2005-07-25 09:12:05 UTC
It is not possible to have same text with different upper case letters in the same column. For example: I would like to fulfil a cell in column B with text PaymentDate and then in the same column in different row paymentdate. This is impossible. Text is always autocorrected to PaymentDate. All I can do is to write paymentdate in other column and then copy it to correct column. Regards, Iztok
Hi, your statement isn't true. You can either accept the autocompletion / autocorrection and after that press CTRL+Z to get the non capitalized word back or just switch of the Auto capitalize feature under tools autocorrect options. Frank

I am sorry but I cannot agree with you. It is not only about the Autocorrect. Try the following: 1. Turn off all Autocorrect features 2. Write Password in B1 cell 3. Write password in C1 cell 4. Now write paSSword in cell B2 5. Try to write pasWord in cell C2 You see. It is not possible. B2 and C2 cells are always autocorrected as in B1 and C1. Regards, Iztok
If you don't want this behaviour you could turn it off via TOOLS-CELL CONTENT-AUTOINPUT

Thank you very much for the solution. I have spoken with several OpenOffice users and groups before opening an issue and nobody was able to help me. I understand now it is not a defect or a bug. It is lack of my knowledge. But I am learning. Thanks and regards, Iztok
