Description watersrw 2005-07-17 08:31:10 UTC
The position of the Lancaster University graphic is clipped and in a funny
position, as are most other ones (in the wrong position)
Comment 1 Regina Henschel 2005-07-17 10:58:26 UTC
The wrong possitions are consequence of issue 52070. Correct the errors of issue
52070 (delete this additional empty paragraphs and reduce the fontsize in the
one line), than the positions will be correct.
Comment 2 watersrw 2005-07-17 11:01:29 UTC
I beg to differ. For example, the Lancaster University graphic on the last page
is over the header and clipped wrongly, not simply pushed to a different
position by text flow. And some of the other figures are also in wrong positions
relative to the text they are apparently anchored to.

corrections as mentioned above for i52070
Comment 4 Regina Henschel 2005-07-17 12:01:25 UTC
I can see problems with borders but not with position. I have made the
corrections I mentioned above to compensate the errors of issue 52070 and
attached the file.

Can you make a word document that will open in OOo with the errors, you see,
which doesn't use columns, so that the error of i52070 will not interfere?
Comment 5 watersrw 2005-07-17 12:15:21 UTC
Sorry, no. The doc also has display problems (for the pictures) in Word 97. I
can only assume that the files were produced in Word 2000 or higher (which I
don't have). The point is, though, surely text flow would simply move the
pictues on a bit, not move them all other the place (change relative position /
anchors).

How they should appear is given by:

http://www.lancs.ac.uk/users/studentsupport/download/leaflets/20042005/6a.pdf

Indeed, all of the 6?.doc files at

http://www.lancs.ac.uk/users/studentsupport/download/leaflets/

have the same problem (some worse than others).

Is it possible for someone with Microsoft Office 2003 to verify that this is
only a text flow problem?

As regina mentioned, the position of the graphic is resulted by the wrong column
break reported in issue 52070.
The graphic is clipped like in Ms Word -> no bug.
