Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52496
Allowed characters for naming of sheets in Calc
Last modified: 2005-08-04 13:43:46 UTC
I'm using OO 1.9.118 Calc and came across some annoying 'feature'. The name conventions for spreadsheets are that you can/have to use letters, numbers, spaces and the underline. Unfortunatelly I'm forced to use for example this names for sheets: (KW52)01.01.-01.07.2005 This works fine in Excel, OO however is converting them to underlines: _KW52_01_01__01_07_2005 since the brackets, dots and hyphen are illegal characters. I have the sheets cross-referenced as well, so of course when they get renamed the references no longer work. Therefor: It would be very helpfull if we was able to use more characters when naming the sheets, esp. dots and hyphen, since their can be quite common. I'd love to get rid of Excel (and the whole M$ Office package) however this 'bug' in OpenOffice makes it impossible to use at the moment and therfor I hope, that it could be fixed soon.
