Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52668
page counter mistake
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:35:17 UTC
when I save a document with openoffice 1.9.118 writer in the microsoft word 97/2000/XP format and open it again, the page counter only switches the page number if the previous one has completely disappeared. When using the sxw-format or the odt-format, the problem does not appear. I found this while trying the different formats (I saved one document, containing text only, using those 3 formats). Normally, this is not a problem, but if you have a large display and a large resolution (1600x1200), it may be irritating, because (requesting a page size fit) you can search for a sentence on page 11 while the counter says you are on page 10.
Created attachment 28376 [details] the problem with the wrong page counter (dutch)
This currently works as designed. Also there is no distinction between the file formats used for storing documents. The page counter (in status bar and tip on the scrollbar) will only switch the page number while scrolling when the previous page has disappeared. Maybe this can be enhanced a bit. At the moment it works like "industry standard", means all famous Word processors work like this.
