Description juanrey 2005-08-09 17:40:47 UTC
When you insert a 'manual break' with a different 'page style' you can select to
change or not page number. If you do it last page 'page number' and 'number of
pages' do not match.

Maybe it should be just an option ( adjusting number of pages ) but I think such
option should be provided someway.

If e.g have five pages in your doument and do a manualy page break with new page
number "1", of course the new page is "1". In the status bar, there will be
stated "Page 1 7/7". This is due to the fact, that there is an automatic
left/right page follow correction in Writer. See issue 3910.

The "page count" (STATISTICS / PAGES) field always reflects the whole number of
pages in a document, not from the start of the "re-counting".
Comment 6 juanrey 2005-08-10 18:42:31 UTC
So maybe thereshould be a new field called something like "section page count"
or "corrected page count"

Hi juanrey,

To see the blank pages, use page preview or print the dokument on paper or
export to pdf.

I think, that issue 36205 covers your problem. You can vote for it.

Thank you regina, but my document really does not contain any blank page. I jus
want to be able to print "Page n of m" at my documents footer ( where n is the
corrected page number, the way now it is shown, and the corrected number of pages ).

So that the last page shows e.g. "page 2 of 2" instead "page 2 of 4".

( See attached file where there is no blank page )

This way of counting is currently not supported in OO. It is already tracked as
"Enhancement" request in issue 33754. Add your comments or votes there, if you
want this to be implemented in a future release.
