Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 53790
Close button is missing in right top corner if several documents are opened
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:40:39 UTC
In last build (122), whenever I open a document in Writer, there is no close box on the righthand corner of the window (there was one before) and some text are also misplaced. I still can close the document with the menu File/Close but this is annoying. Kind regards, Michel De Meerleer
Framework issue.
Changed version due to reporter's comments. Reporter, can you please attach a screenshot? No problem with 2.0 (1.9.m122) German version WIN XP: [680m122(Build8941)].
No problem also on Win2000 with build 122 and 125
Sorry, no screenshots, unable to reproduce the case anymore. Must be a win* crap. Must say that I cleaned my registry with adaware and regcleaner in the mean-time. Maybe that did the trick. Sorry reporting too fast and disturbed you. Michel.

Sorry for disturbing but I have found : The close box is not drawn (see snapshot provided) when more than one document is open in OpenOffice so we are forced to use the Close item menu to close the document instead of the used behaviour of the close box. If this is normal behaviour, please change status to ENHANCEMENT REQUEST. Kind regards

Confirmed on Windows XP SP2 and OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 as ENHANCEMENT. Confirm it on Linux, please. -- Martin Kozák (CS User Support Leader)
It all the same same on each platform. It's not a defect. It works as designed. It only makes sense in the last window: It should close only the document and leave the office in so called 'Backing Mode'. The backing mode doesn't make sense if documents are still open.
Thanks.
