After typing an URL and pressing Space you can undo hyperlink recognition by
undoing. It would be equally usable to be able to undo hyperlink recognition
after typing an URL and pressing Enter.

Pressing 2 times Undo, removes the hyperlink recognition.

Pressing undo twice also deletes the new line. Undoing after pressing space does
not delete the space.
